This new
freeware utility, a 7-zip converter by one of our developers allows you to convert any archives into usually much more optimal
7-zip files.
This is a beta release. Please report all bugs here.
It works pretty much the same as Rar converter (rcvt) utility. You run it from command line (so it is fully compatible with bat or powershell files you may want to create for your file conversion needs) and if needed - specify required parameters. To see the list of parameters, either read the readme.txt file or run the program without any parameters.
Program needs .config file to be edited before use. Please specify where you want your temporary files to be stored, where is your 7-zip archiver and where is your WinRAR archiver. It does not require WinRAR to be installed, you may put the same 7-zip path instead, but if you have WinRAR, use it there.
You may use file masks when archiving, like "7zc *.zip" to convert all zip archives in the folder. However, by default 7-zip converter does not delete the original file. You must use -d switch to delete original file automatically.
